In 1998 a Christian friend and I began doing some local hiking together. As we began to explore the hills of Worcester County we talked about getting other friends together to join us for this fun time of exercise and exploration. After much research and planning "Lead On" came into being in the spring of 1999.

Our first "Lead On" adventure included ten ladies on a three mile hike around Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary in Princeton, MA. The next month twelve ladies came together for some biking on the Cape Cod Rail Trail.

Our adventures have grown to include trips to all of the New England States. We come together once or twice a month from March till November to enjoy God's creation, to fellowship and to be an encouragement to each other.

"Lead On" also gives women the opportunity to explore the woods, waterways, and mountains of New England. Each of our activities allows for exercise and at times the chance to learn a new skill like sailing and kaykaing. Our activities range from simple "walks in the woods" to the more challenging overnight hikes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The group has also taken a special interest in sea kayaking which we have expanded over the past two years.
